Terms of Service
Last Updated: November 8, 2024
Summary in Plain English
Power My Society is an online platform that helps you compare electricity plans from different retail electric providers (REPs). We provide comparison tools and information to help you make informed decisions about your electricity service. While we can connect you with REPs, we do not enroll you directly - you'll complete your enrollment with your chosen provider.
Our service may include:
- Plan comparisons from multiple retail electric providers
- Information about different electricity plans and options
- Optional email notifications about plan renewals
- Direct links to retail electric providers for enrollment
1. Services Overview
1.1 What We Do
Power My Business, a Delaware corporation ("us," or "our") operates www.powermy.business (the "Website"), an online platform that allows users to compare electricity plans from various retail electric providers in Texas. We are registered as a broker (Registration #BR240245) with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. We operate under the registered names Power My Society, Power My Casa, and Power My Business.
1.2 Service Duration and Termination
Unless otherwise specified in writing, our brokerage services are provided on a per-transaction basis. You may terminate our services at any time. For ongoing services (such as renewal notifications), termination methods and any associated fees will be clearly disclosed before you enroll in those services.
1.3 What We Don't Do
- We do not act as your agent
- We do not enroll you directly with retail electric providers
- We do not manage your electricity account
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of prices or terms shown by providers
2. Fees and Compensation
2.1 Platform Fees
Our basic plan comparison service is free to use. We may charge fees for premium services such as renewal notifications or personalized consultations. When applicable, all fees will be clearly disclosed before you use these services.
2.2 Provider Compensation
We may receive compensation from retail electric providers when you enroll in their services through our platform. This compensation is typically in the form of a commission paid by the provider and is built into their standard rates - it does not increase your electricity costs. We show you all relevant plans that match your needs, including ones we don't get paid for, to help you find the best option.
3. User Accounts and Communications
3.1 Optional Account Creation
You may create an account to receive renewal notifications and personalized plan recommendations. Account creation is not required to use our basic comparison tools.
3.2 Email Communications
If you create an account, we will send you:

You may opt out of these communications at any time.
